Does your business give off red flags?
🔬 46% of employees and job seekers say they would leave a job due to micromanagement.
Employment website Monster.com conducted a survey of workers this month to identify workplace red flags — and a few green flags, too (those are the good ones).
🔑 Key stats from the poll, via MarketingProfs:
73% of workers say micromanagement is the biggest red flag
72% have witnessed manager favoritism
65% say more than three rounds of interviews is a red flag
40% won’t even apply for a job that doesn’t list the salary
Honorable “red flag” mentions: Non-flexible schedules, weekly progress meetings, team bonding events, and out-of-office events.
✅ Workplace green flags:
Flexible remote work policies
“Summer Fridays” or early dismissal in summer
Are you guilty of any red flags in the list? Would you reconsider them after seeing them in the survey, or do they work for your business?
‘Traditional’ SEO vs. social SEO
Many marketers operate under the assumption that the SEO strategies they use for traditional search also apply to social media search.
🤷 Or, at the very least, they feel that applying these strategies can’t hurt.
Social search is growing as more and more users turn to their favorite social media platform to perform the same searches they would on Google.
Hootsuite put the “traditional” SEO vs. social search theories to the test by applying them on popular platforms TikTok and Instagram.
🔎 The biggest takeaways:
TikTok: Keyword optimization can offer around 40% more views
Instagram: Keyword optimization may offer 33% more engagement
Read how they executed the experiment here.
☝️ Tips for implementing the findings into your own strategy:
Regularly perform keyword research
Optimize educational content above other types
Include keywords in your script so they’re picked up in the transcript
Don’t forget keywords in titles and hashtags

Consider these factors if your PPC isn’t working
One of the biggest frustrations for PPC managers is the disparity between the amount of leads coming in vs. the conversions from these leads.
Search Engine Journal created a list of reasons why these leads may not be converting, and how you can work through it.
👀 Top reasons include:
There’s a disconnect between marketing and sales
You don’t understand your average sales cycle timeline
You’re using too many generic, high-traffic keywords
🧰 You can work to overcome these obstacles by:
Clearly defining the lead path from marketing to sales
Understanding the difference between your “ideal” sales cycle vs. the actual cycle
Narrowing down your targeting parameters so your keywords match the search intent
The bottom line: Go back to basics to figure out what’s going on and where. The key is to ask yourself the right questions — check out the full article for examples.
