It’s difficult to run a business while keeping your finger on the pulse of the latest industry trends and tools.
This week, we’re talking about how to actually grow your business from scratch, and the technology you need to get there.
Today’s agenda:
🤖 AI content needs a human touch
🏗️ Building your business from zero to traction
🤳 The shift to social search
💼 Briefly: Angel investors & the best writing tools
⏱️ Up & coming: How AI is affecting jobs
✍️ Humanizing AI copy
If you’ve spent any amount of time using an AI chatbot like ChatGPT, you’ve probably noticed there are some words and phrases it favors, including:
Uncover
Unlock
Delve
Explore
Revolutionize
Tapestry
The overuse of these words is exposing your copy to those familiar with this “AI ruffage.”
🤖 What’s the solution?
You don’t have to give up on AI’s assistance to create content that performs well.
Instead, author and speaker Jason Hunt encourages human copy editing for AI content.
“Leverage the human aspect, the human element, and tweak that copy to make it better," Jason says.
💡 The trick is to use AI to generate first drafts, then head in to clean up and optimize the copy to match your brand personality.
Consider also giving the chatbot some of your previous content to help it match your voice for future content, or create a custom GPT.

📱 Social media: The future of search?
Gen Z and millennials are driving the new era of search—on social platforms.
Rather than heading to Google for their questions, they are taking their keyword phrases to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and other platforms.
Search Engine Journal says these factors are “driving the migration”:
User-generated content (UGC): Content created by customers using your product or benefitting from your services
Genuine content that builds trust: Testimonials from friends, creators, and influencers are perceived as more authentic—consider it the digital version of word-of-mouth marketing
Visual content: Videos—and short-form video in particular—are extremely popular, and social media platforms prioritize this type of content and make it easy to both create and consume
🔎 How to take part in the social search era
Understand how your specific audience uses social media
Follow your typical SEO practices on these platforms to make your content visible for certain keywords and phrases
Interact regularly with users on social media
Prioritize video and other visual content
