💪 Risk-taking vs. bravery
Entrepreneurs are often perceived as “risk-takers,” writes Aytekin Tank, but true success comes from taking calculated risks that are linked to well-defined goals and a deeper sense of purpose.
In truth, the one trait entrepreneurs need to be successful is bravery.
💼 Tank’s thoughts on bravery in entrepreneurship:
You can be both risk-averse and successful—what may be most important is a pragmatic approach
Founders define risk differently—and for some, the risk of not pursuing your “entrepreneurial path” is greater than the risk of doing it
Founders should perform a SWOT analysis to determine whether your business model is viable
It also takes bravery to know when it’s time to move on—whether that be killing a project or reassessing and moving in a different direction
💡 Do you consider yourself a risk-taker, or do you feel like the risks you’ve taken as a founder were all carefully calculated?
🗣️ Influencer marketing for B2B audiences
Have you written off influencer marketing as more of a B2C thing?
That side of influencer marketing tends to dominate channels, but a 2023 report found that 75% of B2B businesses use this type of marketing, and more than half of the remaining 25% plan to start!
Your B2B influencer game plan
B2B sales is an entirely different ball game—so we need our own game plan.
Here’s what you need to know, via Content Marketing Institute:
Internal vs. external influencers: B2B marketers often use a mix—internal influencers should be subject matter experts, and external influencers must be carefully selected thought leaders in your industry
Audience size: It’s much more important for influencers to have a quality audience that matches the size of the “total addressable audience” than it is for them to have a massive following
Support your internal influencers: Provide them with necessary tools, education, and time to create content
Compensation: It’s all over the map right now in B2B marketing, so don’t expect any two external influencers to have the same expectations
Align your goals: Make sure your influencer campaigns are used thoughtfully at all stages of your funnel
Channels: Think platforms like LinkedIn, YouTube, and industry-specific podcasts and webinars
