That’s why the commonplace book deserves a spot in any founder’s strategy.
This note-taking tool is a curated vault of the ideas, thoughts, quotes, and observations you deem most meaningful. And in 2025, it can be used to build your own AI training set.

🥋 Your competitive edge? Mastering the basics
In 2025, founders are constantly navigating new tools and platforms—and weighing the impact on their sales and marketing strategies.
It’s overwhelming—but it really doesn’t have to be. The marketing basics apply to any platform and any strategy—even AI.
⚒️ Shift your focus to the following core marketing skills:
Understanding your audience
Creating messaging that grabs attention
Aligning offers with problems, goals, or intent
Making the next step easy for your prospects (CTAs)
🧠 The human behavior behind the platform does not change.
👷 Don’t chase every trend—build a repeatable system
There’s two ways to get attention on your brand:
Earn it
Buy it
You either pay for placement, or you earn it over time with content. The best marketers know how to do both.
🤔 What’s next? Be on the lookout for paid placement inside large language models (LLMs). The tactics shift, but the framework is the same.

📈 The marketing plan you’ll actually execute
Most marketing plans fail before they begin because they’re too ambitious, too abstract, or too bloated to get off the ground.
👇 In a recent podcast appearance, I break down the 90-day planning framework I use to drive real, predictable growth.
📋 The five-part framework:
Inventory what you’ve got: Audit your tools, campaigns, and internal skill sets. You’re probably sitting on underused assets or untapped momentum—start there.
Set real goals: Define specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals. This keeps your plan focused, realistic, and tied to outcomes your execs actually care about.
Own your action plan: Who’s doing what? What gets done in 30 days vs. 90? Where are the skill gaps? If there’s no clear ownership, your plan’s dead before it starts.
Balance quick wins + long-term plays: Identify early wins you can deliver in weeks 2–4, and pair them with a clear path to longer-term outcomes. Small wins build trust, long-term plays build growth.
Make sure your tools and resources match the plan: Check that your tech stack, scheduling tools, CRM, and budget are aligned with the tactics you’re actually planning to run.
If you’re leading growth and need to show progress fast—this is the plan that gets you moving.
Briefly
