🤖 AI in email marketing
AI tools can be a huge help with email marketing—especially if you’re a solopreneur.
However, we still have to make sure we don’t sacrifice our own voice and values for the sake of convenience.
Email strategist Liz Wilcox shared her AI + email marketing best practices in a recent MarTech article:
AI copywriting tips
Leverage AI tools (like ChatGPT, etc.) to brainstorm ideas and outline/draft the copy
Then, edit the copy without AI—making sure to personalize and insert your brand voice
Run the draft through AI again to format and look for spelling/grammar errors
AI analytics strategies
Use your email service provider’s analytics tools to determine:
Customers with the highest engagement
Customers that need to be re-engaged
The best times to schedule your emails
💡 At this point, many consumers can tell when something is completely AI-generated. Make sure to add your personality and a personal touch to every email to match your business’s voice and goals.

🔎 Do your SEO efforts even matter?
Forget what you thought you knew about SEO—as Roger Montti of Search Engine Journal writes, “What constitutes good SEO is subjective and highly dependent on where one learned about SEO.”
Of course, it generally involves:
Keywords
Link building
Site performance
Content quality
And, some people don’t think SEO even matters at all.
Google’s advice
Google’s John Mueller was recently asked the following question: “I changed my website a year ago and did a lot of work on SEO. Should this be affecting my website’s traffic by now?”
Mueller responded that it was difficult to answer without any specifics, but went on to explain that there are numerous SEO best practices that have “minimal effect on the day-to-day performance of a website.”
Additionally, what’s important for SEO varies by topic.
The role of experience
Practice makes perfect—Mueller’s ultimate recommendation was experience, including input from others and practicing.
